Prior to joining Riverview Gardens School District, she served in vital leadership positions during her tenure with St. Louis Public Schools as Science Department Chair/Teacher, District Professional Development representative, and Assistant Principal.

As an educator, she is deeply passionate about challenging students to be the best versions of themselves through academic prowess and student voice to acquire the quality of education they deserve, not simply accept the mediocracy that is often presented to them.  The notable degrees received by Monica include: a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Jackson State University (1999), a Masters of Science in Biology from Jackson State University (2001), a Masters in Arts in Education Administration from Lindenwood University (2008) and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Maryville University (2017).  In Summer 2020, Dr. Perry received a certificate in School Management and Leadership from Harvard University.

Dr. Perry is a strong advocate for helping others as evidenced by her volunteerism with numerous organizations such as Samaritan’s Feet, Women’s Safe House, Komen-St. Louis, Annie Malone’s Children Crisis Center and countless others. She possesses a loving spirit that allows her to impact students’ lives as well as adults in an authentic and meaningful way.

Dr. Perry is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and National Council of Negro Women and is the founding Chief Executive Officer of Pink Carpet Foundation, a non-profit organization that was established to provide scholarships to children of breast cancer patients so they may live out their dreams of post-secondary education.

The first impression I got was true LOVE. The atmosphere was awesome. I am amazed by the founder and those that surround and work with her. You can tell the personality of the leader by the event and workers.

This event was so heart wrenching and informative. It brought an awareness to me about breast cancer that did not know. I am glad that I was given the opportunity to attend this event.
